We are hiring a Development Director in Austin, TX! The selected candidate will have fundraising responsibilities tied to corporate sponsorship and participant income for the annual Austin Heart Walk, CycleNation and Field Day events. These events bring together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers within the community to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke, the number #1 and #5 killers in America. 

 

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain team revenue targets. 

This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule in a fast-paced environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.

Responsibilities

As the Director you will be responsible for: 

  • Generating revenue and volunteer management for the Austin Heart Challenge events.   
  • Conducting sales calls to generate new business and manage existing companies. 
  • Developing relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate and community leaders. 
  • Goal setting with corporate companies and individuals to raise funds and awareness. 
  • Working alongside the events and logistics team to coordinate event efforts and meet company needs to deliver on promised activations. 
  • Networking within the local area and recruiting and retaining our valued volunteers. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in fundraising, outside sales, or in a nonprofit organization in a similar capacity.
  • Organization, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are a must. 
  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management, proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals.
  • Candidates must be results driven with the ability to multitask and must also be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory up to 75%.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
