The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Revenue Accountant based out of our National Center office! 

 

This position will work in a hybrid setting (in office 2 to 3 days a week), if within the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. 

 

The position allows for a home-based setting with expectations that travel to the National Center office may occasionally be necessary, if not currently located within the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.

Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for providing customer service and support to the National Center and Regions by performing a variety of duties related to recording revenue, analyzing sponsorship agreements, assist with electronic invoicing, managing the collection of receivables, recording and reconciling income from online and other revenue streams, management of on-site cash receipts and customer service inbox, CC processing, mail distribution, and attending conferences as a Finance representative. 

  • Prepare and record revenue entries coinciding with established Finance close deadlines. Includes primarily regional social and online revenue, memorial allocations, workplace giving allocations, Estate Planning new and termination entries, stock allocation and receivable application, mobile deposit allocation and other entries as assigned.
  • Review and record sponsorship agreements into the accounts receivable module. Track pledges not recorded. Review accounts receivable aging reports and assists with periodic meetings with collection managers to document and address collection issues.
  • Review and approve checks received at National Center
  • Reconciles various revenue-related general ledger accounts as assigned.
  • Assist with electronic invoicing, confirmations and aha outlook inbox management
  • Monitor Finance customer service portal and inbox and serve as National Center and Regional Revenue contact
  • Assist with reporting, attend conferences, and other requests as need.
  • Assist in external audits including preparation of work papers and analyses as needed. Assist with documenting processes and procedures.
  • Educates and trains regional staff on issues related to cash receipts and A/R (coding questions, CDS batch processing, problem resolution, event reconciliation, etc.). Communicates best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Two (2) – Five (5) years of proven experience
  • Experience with general accounting practices, policies, and audit requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Skilled in PC applications including Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Experience with automated accounting and finance systems
  • Skilled in planning projects and working against deadlines to provide product
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of AHA staff
  • Skilled in oral and written communication
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel up to 2% local and overnight stay

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Advanced excel skills (formulas, pivots and macros)
