We have a Senior Development Director opportunity in the Midlands and Greater Columbia, SC Market! The Senior Director is responsible for coordinating, planning, and implementing strategies and resources necessary to achieve the Greater Midlands campaign goals and objectives, while leading a fundraising team and holding them accountable to their goals.
This will include solicitation of large dollars and multi-year gifts from individuals and corporations as well as executive level volunteer recruitment. As a key member of the Columbia development team, this role drives revenue for our Heart Challenge fundraising campaign. The campaign includes our Midlands Heart Challenge Campaign. This role has one direct report.
We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets.

The main accountability of the Senior Development Director is to secure revenue for the life-saving mission of the American Heart Association, being held accountable for an overall fundraising goal and the execution of high-quality campaigns in accordance with the Association standards.
Develop and implement a plan of revenue growth through key fundraising events, strategic market partnerships and philanthropic donors.
Generate revenue with corporate sponsors and individual donors through cultivation, stewardship, renewal, and deepening engagement to retain and upgrade their financial commitment.
Develop relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and key corporate/community leaders to successfully drive participation in Heart Challenge events. Collaborate with internal partners in the market, region, and national center, to forge donor relationships.
Identify, recruit, and lead executive volunteer leadership, including implementing a year-round cultivation plan.
Build and maintain an ongoing pipeline of prospective high-level corporate sponsors, individual donors, and volunteer leadership to advance our mission.
Lead peer-to-peer fundraising in participating Heart Challenge companies to achieve revenue goals.
Recruit and lead corporate fundraising team participation in the Heart Walk Campaigns, Hard Hats for Heart campaigns, Field Day campaigns and motivate team to fundraise.
Lead donor engagement experiences and events.
In this role, you will report to the Executive Director, Columbia and will lead 1 fundraising director to meet the overall revenue goal for the Midlands market with specific emphasis on the Midlands Heart Challenge campaign.
Local travel within the market is required to counties including Richland, Lexington, Orangeburg, Fairfield, Kershaw and Newberry.
