We have an excellent opportunity for a Development Manager to join our Northeast Ohio Division. This position will be working out of our Uniontown office at least 2 days per week, with the remainder of the time spent working in the field and at home. This role will be supporting our Heart Walk events in Stark County, Wayne County, and Summit County. The primary responsibility will be to handle corporate fundraising, volunteer recruitment and management, and event logistics for our Heart Challenge campaign.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities for Heart Walk participation and sponsorship.
  • Focus on logistics support and volunteer management for our Heart Walk event, as well as providing support to sponsorship, as needed.
  • Supporting the Heart Walk participants, including assisting with recruiting coaches and walker.
  • Assisting in securing individual giving donations through Heart Walk website.
  • Providing overall support for event logistics based on national best practices.
  • Develop, input, and maintain information in appropriate computer software programs, including a CRM and event specific software.
  • Handle report generation, including manipulating data from multiple systems.

 

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred; college graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated track record in donor and volunteer relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with proactive communication, thorough planning and execution and allocating/providing resources, additional support or training.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to consistently maintain a professional, calm, and friendly manner in creating positive customer experiences externally and internally.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential issues that may impact organizational productivity and/or compliance and address proactively and timely.
  • Effective project management and event management skills in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in positively managing change including anticipating and championing organizational change, creating contingency plans, proactively considering short-term and long-term impact.

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of the American Heart Association’s standards and procedures.
  • Experience with sales or fundraising strategies.
  • Experience managing volunteers.
