The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Manager in our Procurement Department, based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX.

 

This position will work in a hybrid setting (in office approximately 1-2 days a week and as needed) in our Dallas, TX. office.

Responsibilities

Subject matter authority who sources professional services, technology and products having significant importance to the organization. Negotiates favorable terms, discounted pricing, and long-term contracts with critical suppliers. Prepares and processes legal and commercial documents for the procurement of services, technology or products needed to support  enterprise wide and/or departmental projects or processes.

 

  • Leads or performs work associated with sourcing, negotiating, and securing procurement proposals, bids, and contracts with suppliers/vendors of substantial importance to the organization. Analyzes and evaluates requests for supplier sourcing.
  • Identifies sources for professional services, technology and products having substantial cost to the organization, develops procurement plans, negotiates terms, and processes contracts of purchasing documents. Engages in complex pricing, delivery, service, and supplier quality negotiation. May be a player-coach and leads others.
  • Coordinates more complex contractual agreements for professional services, technology and products as needed in compliance with organization policies and procedures. Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned service agreements and subcontracts to ensure the best quality and best value.
  • Develops cost-benefit analysis, project estimates, strategic purchasing plans, and contingency plans to enhance profit or minimize loss caused by unplanned events.
  • Recommends procurement methods, scope and terms of supplier agreements, critical supplier sources, and short and long-term procurement plans.
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders to define quality and service requirements and standards.
  • Cultivates supplier relationships, supervises KPI, and monitors scorecards to measure and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Analyzes the organization’s supplier spending and contracts to assess opportunities to conduct supplier sourcing and accomplish cost savings.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope and responsibility of the job level and family.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Finance, Material Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in sourcing services, supplier contract negotiations, project management and supply management in a corporate environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects and collaborate with internal collaborators and suppliers.
  • Validated experience with Contract Management, Negotiating Commercial Terms, Procurement, Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with MS Office, Enterprise Financial Software (preferably Oracle Fusion), Source to Procurement Software and Contract Management Software
  • Ability to travel up to 5% local and overnight stay.

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration.
  • Professional certification such as C.P.M., CPSM, CPCM, CFCM or other affiliated certification.
