The American Heart Association National Center has an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Communications Manager supporting our Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) division.  This position is hybrid with 2 days in the office per week.

 

Our ECC Programs (CPR, First Aid and related training) educate healthcare providers, caregivers, and the general public on responding to cardiovascular emergencies including cardiac arrest and stroke. ECC is responsible for developing the CPR education and training that is utilized by healthcare providers and the public. CPR training is delivered by members of the Association’s CPR Training Network, which is comprised of CPR Instructors. ECC is dedicated to growing public awareness of the importance of early intervention, ensuring greater access to training and increased survival rates from cardiac arrest and bystander response.

 

The ECC department also oversees the Association’s Professional Education Hub (PEH), which is a science-based digital learning platform that offers quality courses and training for healthcare professionals to advance their skills to improve patient outcomes. The platform is a resource for Continuing Education as well as individualized, professional certifications.

Responsibilities

As the Marketing Communications Manager, you will make an outstanding impact by working with colleagues to develop and implement communications and content marketing plans in support of the PEH to increase visibility and attract new customers. Additionally, you will formulate and implement communications strategies focused on operational communications that will help our Association CPR Training Network. As part of the communications work devoted to our CPR Training Network, you will also identify relevant stories that uphold our mission that can be shared with our Training Network.

  • Collaboration with PEH’s business development managers to identify, gather, and leverage customer success stories that can be turned into testimonials, white papers, and/or case studies and ultimately, contribute to increased visibility, attract new customers and/or generate leads.
  • Develop engaging, research-driven B2B content (case studies, white papers, blogs and/or videos) that can be featured on the Hub and/or appropriate digital channels. As appropriate, successfully manage those content opportunities that need to be outsourced, developed, and finalized.
  • Work with ECC marcomms leaders to establish KPIs for content marketing efforts.
  • Monitor content marketing efforts and make data-informed analyses with proactive recommendations.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar for PEH-specific offerings across digital channels that will also help the ECC business development managers.
  • Monitor content marketing industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • In collaboration with colleagues across the ECC department, help identify, plan, and create operational communications for the CPR Training Network.
  • Identify, gather, and develop stories from Training Network the that can be used to build inspirational and/or how-to content to enhance communications.  As appropriate, successfully manage those content opportunities that need to be outsourced and finalized.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in communications, content marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to develop and implement communications and content marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Detail oriented with sensitivity to timeliness.
  • The ability to be a self-starter who is resourceful and possesses excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and Canva
  • Proficiency with, and technical knowledge of, the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop).
  • Ability to travel up to 10% nationally with overnight stay

 

Preferred:

  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Healthcare, public health, and/or agency experience
  • Experience with copywriting and proof-reading
  • Experience producing photo and video shoots
  • Experience with video editing
  • Proficiency with Premiere Pro and After Effects
