We’re hiring a temporary Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to our School Engagement team. The temporary assignment will run approximately three months, starting around the beginning of January and concluding on or around March 31, 2026. We're looking for individuals who can complete the entire duration of the assignment. Work hours are flexible between 7:30am and 5pm.

This is a part-time, temporary position working 29 hours per week with an end date of approximately March 31, 2026. This is a home-based position, and the location is flexible within the six states of our SW region territory, including the states of AR, CO, NM, OK, TX, and WY.

We're hiring a total of three temporary Administrative Assistant positions with the SW region.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Creation of customized letters and emails using Microsoft Word Mail Merge features and Luminate.
  • Updating CRM database, with data and activity for donors, participants, and accounts. Prepare reports.
  • Developing, coordinating, and maintaining record-keeping and filing systems for the area of responsibility.
  • Conducting phone calls to support the work of the field staff.
  • Potential for light graphic designing using Canva.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience providing basic administrative support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Word Mail Merge.
  • Ability to type.
  • Attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected pay range will be $18 to $23 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
