The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Strategic Account Director, Corporate Relations with our National Center. The location of the selected candidate is flexible and remote.

 

 This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant-funded opportunity, current funding is through 3/31/2028.

 

 

Expected pay range will be $130,00 to $170,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for overall account management within assigned and emerging pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and device companies nationally, resulting in achievement of annual revenue goal and company engagement across the Association. The ability to build relationships with both internal and external parties and understand organizational priorities in line with the Association’s mission is critical to success.  This candidate will be able to work with their assigned organizations to understand their strategic priorities, pipeline, budget, and uncover and translate opportunities for engagement.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Primary Association contact for assigned pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and device companies.
  • Meet with assigned companies to develop a pathway for Association engagement to ultimately drive revenue toward our mission with a strategic account management approach.
  • Facilitate relationships with accounts, at all levels and in various business units, for long term engagement with the Association.
  • Work across internal departments to develop solutions and work toward our mission that meet the needs and budget of the funder.
  • Lead strategic meetings with companies to connect external opportunities to internal capabilities and develop agendas and facilitate those discussions.
  • Engage with the Association field to align opportunities for local market engagement.
  • Work to actively engage with and secure new accounts.
  • Attend and meet with funders at key Scientific Conferences, at least three conferences per year.
  • Write and negotiate contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of successful account management, and sales experience, with proven history of success. Pharmaceutical or health care sales experience a plus,
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and interact internally across a large matrixed organization.
  •  Some travel, including overnights.
  • Previous strategic, and long-term account management of highly matrixed organizations experience.

 

Compensation & Benefits
