The American Heart Association has an opportunity for a Clinical Research & Data Insights Project Manager, supporting our National Center office in Dallas, TX. This position can be home-based.

 

This is a full time, benefits eligible, grant funded opportunity. Current funding will expire on 6/30/2026, with the possibility of extension.

 

The Clinical Research & Data Insights Project Manager will oversee and coordinate research projects conducted in collaboration with industry partners and healthcare systems. This role ensures projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with the American Heart Association’s mission to advance science, improve patient outcomes, and generate real-world evidence. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between internal teams, external sponsors, and healthcare system partners to drive projects from initiation through successful completion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end execution of clinical research projects, including development, planning, budgeting, timelines, deliverables, and reporting.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for industry sponsors, healthcare systems, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (industry collaborators, clinical staff, volunteers, data management, analytics, science, legal, operations) to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including protocols, timelines, budgets, and status reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and ethical requirements in all research activities.
  • Translate complex research findings into insights for sponsors, healthcare partners, and scientific dissemination.
  • Support preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and other knowledge translation activities.
  • Foster positive sponsor relationships by ensuring high-quality service delivery and timely communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Clinical Research, Health Administration, Life Sciences, or related field required; Masters preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical research project management, preferably within academic, healthcare, or industry settings.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial operations, regulatory standards, and real-world evidence methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana) and familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional overnight stays.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected pay range will be $70,000 to $90,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. The American Heart Association invests in its people.
