The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Revenue Analyst based out of our National Center office!

 

This position will work in a hybrid setting (in office 2-3 days a week) in our Dallas office.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for following the prescribed revenue and accounts receivable processes and procedures to ensure compliance with revenue recognition, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) guidance.  Additional responsibilities include ensuring revenue transactions, analytical reports, and related activities are completed accurately and within the required schedule as well as for providing cash handling and accounts receivable guidance through regular interaction with Association staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide support to critical partners (related to revenue, accounts receivable, cash/ACH, and credit card transactions.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Business Technology (BT) and Treasury on revenue reporting to ensure accuracy in recording revenue from the various online fundraising platforms. Assist with external relationships on payment platforms (i.e. PayPal, Stripe, Facebook, Amazon Pay, Stripe, Payeezy).
  • Review assigned contracts for completeness and record contract revenue accurately in the accounting system.
  • Review of lockbox check headers for checks received at National Center
  • Initiate and complete process improvements
  • Monitoring bank and credit card transactions for fluctuations
  • Prepare and analyze Accounts Receivable activities and reports.  Provide quarterly and annual AR reserve analyses.
  • Establish and adhere to a strong internal control environment. Ensure information is secured related to cash receipts as well as adherence to PCI regulations.
  • Prepare assigned monthly/quarterly analyses and account reconciliations, adhering to prescribed deadlines.
  • Manage the electronic invoicing process and any related donor and region communications.
  • Manage and lead monthly region Accounting Liaison calls. Provide information about Revenue on the Quarterly New-Hire calls.
  • Assist with campaign and other reporting required by Development and leadership.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses and assist management on projects, as required.
  • Ability to assist Revenue Team members where needed.
  • Prepare and review assigned annual Audit work papers in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting or Finance or related field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in general accounting operations with exposure to cash handling and accounts receivable.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in the use of finance or accounting computer applications (JD Edwards Enterprise One).
  • Ability to meet and adhere to strict deadlines and compliance policies.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret findings.
  • Oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide a simple interpretation of accounting practices.
  • Comprehensive customer service skills and ability to interact with varying levels of authority and knowledge.

Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
