The American Heart Association is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to expand adoption of the Professional Education Hub (PEH), the Association’s digital learning platform delivering science-based continuing education and workforce development solutions for healthcare organizations.

 

This position can be home-based.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for generating new enterprise relationships, building a qualified sales pipeline, and closing revenue opportunities with health systems, hospitals, academic institutions, and healthcare organizations. Lead consultative sales engagements that position the PEH as a strategic workforce education solution aligned with the latest Association’s science.

 

Success in this role requires consistently building pipeline coverage, leading complex sales cycles, and driving enterprise adoption across healthcare systems.

 

Enterprise Account Development

  • Identify and pursue opportunities within hospitals, health systems, academic institutions, EMS agencies, and entities in the healthcare sector.  
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand workforce training needs, compliance requirements, and clinical education priorities.
  • Position the PEH as an interpersonal solution supporting clinical competency, patient safety, and workforce development.
  • Expand relationships within client organizations by engaging clinical leaders, education teams, and administrative stakeholders.

Solution Positioning & Client Engagement

  • Present the Association’s education portfolio, including CE courses, clinical education pathways, and subscription-based learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter authorities and product teams to align offerings with client needs.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to senior healthcare leaders.
  • Represent the Association at conferences, customer meetings, and industry events.

Sales Operations & Performance Management

  • Maintain well-adapted pipeline hygiene, including accurate opportunity stages, revenue projections, and defined next steps.
  • Track and report sales activity, pipeline coverage, and revenue progress against targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to convert leads and advance opportunities.
  • Continuously refined outreach strategies based on market feedback and sales performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or enterprise account management.
  • Experience using consultative selling approaches to identify organizational needs and align solutions across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to generate a pipeline through proactive prospecting.
  • Experience leading complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining principled sales execution.
  • Experience using CRM systems to lead pipeline and forecasting.
  • Ability to travel up to 30–40% local and overnight stay.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience selling into hospitals, health systems, or healthcare organizations.
  • Background in healthcare education, continuing education, or digital learning platforms.
  • Familiarity with accreditation or clinical education environments.

 

Compensation & Benefits

This position is incentive eligible based on achieving certain targets with the potential to earn up to 10% of your base pay.
