The American Heart Association (the "Association") is currently hiring a Temporary Development Coordinator located in New Jersey.  This is a home-based position. This is a short-term, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position that will end on 10/16/2026.  This position is responsible for supporting the operations team's data management efforts. Duties include managing data across several event management systems related to leadership and donations, processing payments in the financial system, and collaborating with colleagues and departments on a variety of other important tasks that advance our mission.

Responsibilities

The Temporary Development Coordinator is a key element in supporting a cohesive, efficient, and productive workplace.

  • Configuring custom event notifications for participants using the Givergy software platform for approximately 70 events. 

  • Manage communication with event teams regarding website build ticket requests, monitor progress, and facilitate timely completion.

  • Create and maintain detailed project tracking spreadsheets in Excel, capturing progress updates, key decisions, and follow-up actions.

  • Code invoices with financial coding and enter them into the financial system Oracle Cloud for payment to be submitted to the vendor.

Qualifications

  • Must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent. A college degree or some college is a plus.
  • At least one year of experience in administrative work, project coordination, and/or event management systems with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have intermediate skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.  Advanced knowledge and skill with these programs is preferred. These skills are subject to testing.
  • Willingness to work in an atmosphere requiring flexibility and change. Proven ability to respond quickly to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, strategies, and other processes at work.
  • Knowledge of and skill in report preparation, proofreading, and attention to detail.
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread completed work for accuracy and completeness. 

  • Aptitude to troubleshoot issues and resolve.
  • Customer service skills to work with internal staff to gather information and implement it into event websites.
  • Ability to prioritize completing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected pay range will be $22.60 to $25.00 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. This position is incentive-eligible based on achieving certain targets.
