Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel.  All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. Offices will be reopening in October 2021; this position will resume to being based in the local office.

 

Responsibilities

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Planning Manager. The location for this position is remote.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing marketing plans and campaign schedules for assigned AHA mission to help advance market objectives and impact goals.  Responsible for overseeing marketing execution and analyzing results of marketing plans. Responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams (Branding, Communications, Social and Digital) to deliver consistent messaging in all channels.  Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders to meet the business needs and fulfill assigned marketing plans.

 

Essential Job Duties:

 

  • Develop marketing campaign plans. Lead implementation, execution, and measurement. Collaborate with internal teams and agencies/ vendors to create, implement and ensure planned content is delivered and aligns with overall marketing strategies across owned, paid, and earned channels that engages target audiences and inspires them to act.
  • Research, identify and recommend marketing concepts surrounding populations with barriers to healthcare. Develop briefs, timelines and annual / seasonal/ integrated marketing plans for business units and portfolios to advance mission impact and brand relevance.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally and with internal and external partners, agencies, and field/ sales teams to oversee implementation and execution of marketing strategies and brand engagement.
  • Documents campaign recaps to report on effectiveness, opportunities and lessons learned. Works with analysts and cross functional teams to develop and deliver performance reports, insights and recommendations for actions or revisions to assigned marketing campaign.
  • Implements tests and learns. Partners across departments and business units to build, track, and optimize advertising campaigns (SEM, social, display).

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, and or Marketing and Communications
  • Five (5) years of experience in developing marketing campaigns to address business needs (fact-based substantiation).
  • Three (3) years of experience in working with multiple vendors/partners (internally and externally) with critical timelines and multiple project requirements.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and managing social media plans.
  • Ability to develop conceptual strategies and recommend changes to optimize marketing performance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders – creative, media, legal, science, internal partners, product owners. Ability to manage and influence without direct authority
  • Excellent cross-functional team, project, and organizational leadership skills with the proven ability to interact with and influence across all levels and functions
  • Ability to align strategic marketing with operational and tactical planning
  • Ability to capture audiences with compelling narratives and possesses excellent deckbuilding and written/verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of populations and audience messaging for social determinants of health

Preferred Qualifciations:

 

  • Three (3) years of experience in Healthcare marketing and promotions to healthcare professionals and consumers.
