We are currently hiring for a Development Director for the Chicago market. The Director will oversee our Go Red for Women corporate fundraising campaign, which includes our signature Go Red for Women Luncheon.  The ideal candidate will be located in or very close to the market area.

 

This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule. This is a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.  Competitive salary with incentive potential is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and auction items.

  • Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day of the event volunteers. 
  • Implement a year-round cultivation and stewardship plan for volunteer leadership and donors.

  • Develop profiles on the top businesses within the market area with a documented plan to secure their involvement.

  • Execute digital experience/event logistics based on national best practices for annual fundraising events and experiences. Examples include STEM Goes Red, Go Red for Women Luncheon and social events for donors.

  • Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the campaigns.
  • Assist the Senior Development Director in driving strategy and campaign management.
  • Manage and maintain donor database and reporting systems.
  • Deliver sponsorship benefits depending on level of sponsorship and support. 

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity preferred.

  • Ability to thrive in a results-driven and collaborative environment with highly effective organization, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to recruit, train, and manage high level volunteers to accomplish established goals.

  • Skill in making oral presentations to large and small audiences and ability to write clear and concise narratives.

  • Ability to do daily travel up to 75% and overnight travel up to 5%.

  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.  These skills are subject to testing.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
