The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Senior Director Of Brand Marketing in our National Center office located in Dallas, Texas. The location for this position is flexible and remote.

The National Senior Director of Brand Marketing is a strategic thinker and creative brand storyteller, responsible for leading the implementation of the enterprise brand strategy, consumer marketing plans and go to market delivery of campaigns and products to drive mission impact, brand relevance and revenue. The individual is a results oriented, insights driven champion of the brand’s positioning, messaging and visual identity, driving synergy across campaigns to deliver effective brand value in the market. Will lead large cross functional teams, build strategic stakeholder relationships internally and externally and lead a team of direct reports. Responsible for delivering on organization wide and department KPIs by analyzing and reporting on brand perceptions, campaign metrics and compliance of toolkits. Provides leadership, mentoring and guidance to others.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees marketing planning process and budget including development of marketing strategy, brand campaigns and marketing plan implementation across key consumer brands and products to elevate the brands impact in the marketplace and deliver against business and organization wide goals.
  • Establishes key partnerships, builds relationships and fosters strong cross functional collaboration with internal and external partners, agencies, field/sales teams, alliances and sponsors to expand our brand voice, reach and impact in the marketplace with key audiences
  • Oversees a large team of marketing planners in overseeing the implementation and optimization of annual marketing strategy campaigns and omnichannel digital strategies to deliver effectively in market and increase brand engagement nationally and regionally.
  • Identifies new areas of opportunity to reach new audiences and increase brand/product effectiveness. Creates, reviews and validates messaging for cultural acceptance and relevance. Monitors the effectiveness of brand marketing campaigns and tactics. Evaluates plan against results and provides guidance to assigned teams to improve engagement and reach of audience.
  • Champions health equity, diversity, and inclusion. Provides leadership, mentoring and guidance to direct reports, team, and cross functional teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring advertising budget is used efficiently and effectively to deliver goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related area.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in marketing, brand management, or advertising
  • Ten (10) years of experience in leading brand marketing strategies and integrated marketing plans independently or with the support of an outside agency
  • Seven (7) years of experience: Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders – creative, media, legal, science, internal partners, product owners
  • Five (5) years of the following experience:
    • Management and talent development experience
    • Experience in working with multiple vendors/partners (internally and externally) with critical timelines and multiple project requirements.
    • Experience in brand governance within a client organization and/or an advertising agency
    • Extensive knowledge of all marketing media including digital, paid, and social media campaigns
  • Three (3) years of the following experience:
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills
    • Ability to build consensus and influence leadership
    • Advanced understanding of customized, culturally sensitive marketing campaigns and review process

Preferred Skills:

  • Three (3) years of Health-care or Non Profit Experience
